During
the summer period you can go for a walk through markets,
acrobats, fire-eaters, ballad-singers, stilt-walkers and
listen to music in the big central square, or
alternatively you can enjoy yourself during the three
nights of Cabaret Amoremio, one of the most
important Italian comic festivals.
If you otherwise are looking for more quiet and romantic
circumstances you can rediscover classical music by
joining the concert review into the suggesting
surroundings of the medieval town (the most prestigious
among all is the international ‘Franz Liszt Festival’.
And art, theatre, sport events, August 15th Fireworks,
and many other opportunities for fun and entertainment
all holiday-time long.
In
order to keep the memory of past events, Grottammare
commemorates its own history by celebrating some
traditional feasts like the Patron Saint Festivity on
July 10th and above all the suggestive ‘Jubilee Feast’,
a costume parade celebrated every 1st of July falling on
Sunday (last edition was in 2007).
The celebration wants to remind the safety docking to
Grottammare of Pope Alexander the III in 1177 while he
was going to Venice.
